JAMMU, Nov 6: Gandhi Global Family (GGF) presented prestigious Mahatma Gandhi Seva Medal to Shanti Doot, Jain Acharya Shri Nitya Nand Ji Maharaj, in a simple but impressive function held here today.
After accepting the honour, Jain Acharya Shri Nitya Nand Ji Maharaj expressed his gratitude to all members of Gandhi Global Family engaged in the service of mankind worldwide on voluntary basis and particularly to GGF President, Ghulam Nabi Azad.
He said following the footsteps of Mahatma Gandhi, Azad is doing commendable job for the people of the country and hoped that such honours related to Mahatama Gandhiji will gives strength to the people to do more service towards the humanity.
Earlier in his welcome address, Padmashri S P Varma, President GGF J&K, said that to honour Shanti Doot like Acharya Ji is a true tribute to Mahatama Gandhi.
