JAMMU, Apr 25: The House Committee of Legislative Council probing JAKFED scam has expressed disapproval of the callous approach of the concerned officers for not submitting the reports before the House Committee members in time in connection with alleged embezzlement of funds.
The Committee, which reviewed the reports submitted by the concerned department today, took a serious view of non-compliance of the directions of the committee with regard to furnishing of details of the records regarding the functioning of JAKFED, the FIR report and action taken report thereafter, and completed volumes of the Pillai Committee report.
The House Committee issued further directions to provide the records and information within the notified time.
The Committee also directed Administrative Secretary, Cooperatives to ensure compliance of the directions of the Committee and furnish the requisite information and records on or before May 10, 2013.
The State Legislative Council panel set up by Chairman to probe into the alleged embezzlement of funds in Jammu and Kashmir Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation Limited (JAKFED) met today under the chairmanship of Khalid Najib Suharwardy.
On April 22, the Committee had directed Administrative Secretary, Cooperative Department to produce all the records relevant to the matter on or before April 24, 2013.
The Chairman Legislative Council, Amrit Malhotra had constituted a House Committee on April 16 to look into alleged bungling and embezzlement of public money worth crores of rupees in JAKFED from 1987 onwards including cases culminating in registration of case FIR 3/95 by Vigilance Organisation.
