Jammu Athletes shine at Kangra Ultra Run

JAMMU, Feb 15: Athletes from Jammu made a significant impact at the first edition of the Kangra Ultra Run, organized by Big Foot Adventures India. Set against the picturesque yet challenging terrain of Kangra, the event attracted runners from all across the country.
In the 25KM category, Jammu athletes delivered exceptional performances, securing podium finishes. Irfan Hafiz clinched 2nd place in the Male category, while Dr. Palak Malhi triumphed with a 1st place finish in the Female category. Dr. Farhat Raza secured 2nd place in the Female category, and Dr. Sandeep Kaur took 3rd place in the Female category.
Ravinder Sharma, representing Jammu in the 50KM category, impressed with a 2nd Runner-Up finish. He was the only participant from Jammu & Kashmir in the demanding ultra-distance race, showcasing remarkable endurance and determination on the tough course.
The increasing participation of Jammu athletes in such prestigious ultra-distance events highlights the growing interest in endurance sports within the region. The Jammu Hills Sports Club Foundation continues to encourage athletes to push their limits and represent the region on national platforms, fostering a spirit of perseverance and excellence in long-distance running, cycling, and duathlons.
The Kangra Ultra, known for its scenic yet tough course, tested the grit of every participant, and Jammu’s athletes proved their mettle once again in the ultra-running circuit.
