JAMMU, July 12: Ashutosh Malla, a 23-year-old Software Engineer from Jammu has developed a web application www.pintnetwork.com to connect plasma donors and Corona patients for plasma transfusion.
The application was developed by Malla within 7 days only. The web application helps to find a plasma donor for Corona patients who register on the website. All the process of registration either by donor or patient is conducted online.
Through the software, an automatic matching is done and patient and donor are informed through SMS and email which are generated by the website and sent to respective donors and patients automatically.
The web application was developed by Ashutosh Malla in coordination with young doctors Neil Pinto and Kareena of Mumbai. Malla, a soft engineer graduated last year from Mumbai University.
As this web application is connecting patients and donors all over India, it would be of immense help to the people of J&K also for recovery of COVID-19 patients.
Speaking on motive of creating the web application, Dr Neil and Dr Kareena said that there is a communication gap between donors and Corona patients and to bridge this communication gap, this application has been developed.
They said that within a week of developing the application, 66 donors and 65 patients have registered themselves on it. “There is a criterion for registration of donor as the donor should have recovered from Corona at least 14 days ago, he should not be a patient of TB or Hepatitis and he should be not be less than 18 years-old and older than 65 years,” they added.
