Jammu boy ‘Rachit’ keeps J&K flag high in Equestrian at national scene

JAMMU, Mar 24: At a tender age of 14 years, the son of the soil, Rachit Gupta is all set to keep J&K’s flag high at the national scene in Equestrian. He is all set to participate in the Delhi Horse Show 2024 to be held at Army Equestrian Centre (AEC) Delhi Cantt from April 5 to 17, 2024.
Rachit has the distinction of winning gold in the All India IPSE Equestrian Championship in Children-I Show Jumping in 2022-23, besides Dream Alliance: 2023 at Mayo College and qualifying for Junior National Equestrian Championship (JNEC) 2023 of Regional Equestrian League (REL).
Some of the notable events that Rachit has participated in so far include the Junior National Equestrian Championship (JNEC)- 2023 at Agram Riding and Polo Academy (ARPA) Bengaluru, Delhi Horse Show 2019, 2022, 2023, Chinkara Horse Show organised by 61st Cavalry Jaipur in 2018,2019, 2022, 2023 and Inter-Public School Competition 2018, 2019, 2023.
For pursuing this sport and becoming the first Equestrian Athlete from Jammu and Kashmir, Rachit has already received accolades from Secretary to Government Youth Services and Sports Department, Sarmad Hafeez and Secretary J&K Sports Council, Nuzhat Gull.
“Horse Riding has been my passion since my childhood and I actively started pursuing it at the age of 8 when I joined Mayo College Ajmer as a 4th Grade student in 2018. I will leave no stone unturned in bringing laurels for J&K,” said Rachit.
