Jammu Boy shines in 61st National Roller Sports C’ship, wins 2 gold medals

JAMMU, Dec 18: Brought laurels to Union Territory, Jammu boy Kyran Gupta (Class 7) of Maharaja Hari Singh Agricultural Collegiate (MHAC) School Nagbani won two gold medals along with other team members in the recently held 61st National Roller Sports Championship held at Chandigarh.
He won gold medals in both the Sub Junior Boys Category and Sub Junior Mix Category in which both the teams remained undefeated in the tournament. The statement said it is for the first time, Jammu & Kashmir has won 2 gold medals, one in the newly introduced Sub Junior Mix Category and the other gold medal in Sub Junior Boys Category.
Kyran Gupta along with other team members had also clinched bronze medal for India at the 40th Macau Open Championship held at Macau recently. It was the first time that Roller Skating Federation of India took a Sub Junior team in their squad to participate at an International level.
Apart from that Kyran Gupta also has been national champion in Roller Hockey in Cadet Category (under 11) in the year 2021 at 59th National Roller Skating Championships held at Mohali. He has also secured 2nd place in Sub Junior All India Inter District Championship in the month of April 2023. Kyran said that he is highly motivated and focused for all upcoming events in near future and he will do his best for the Country and J&K-UT.
Parents of Kyran also expressed gratitude to the Union Government especially Prime Minister Narendra Modi for giving exceptional attention towards Sports in India. They also appreciated the Department of Youth Services and Sports and J&K Sports Council for providing training to the young ones under the My Youth My Pride initiative.
The school authorities of MHAC School Nagbani have also lauded Kyran Gupta for bringing laurels to the school and wished him more success in his future endeavours.
