JAMMU, Apr 7: Special children of Asha School, Jammu Cantt under the aegis of HQ 26 Infantry Division brought glory by winning 15 Gold, 14 Silver and 5 Bronze medals in the Khelo India Games for disabled organized by Special Olympics Bharat, which concluded at Youth Hostel, Nagrota, here today.
299 Special Children of J&K participated in games and various sports events including Football Dribbling, Throw Ball, Badminton, Softball, Bocce, 100M race, 50M race and Wheelchair race.
C P Panwar, DIG CRPF was the chief guest on the closing ceremony. Prominent among others present on the occasion were Maj Nitesh Sharma, OIC Asha School Jammu Cantt, Anjali Sharma, Director AIR J&K and Dr Ashwani Jojra, State President Special Olympics Bharat.
Asha School was adjudged as the overall champion of the event and Dr Meenakshi Gupta of the school as the Best Faculty member among all.
