JAMMU, Aug 10: Welcoming the idea of talks to end ongoing unrest in Kashmir valley and resolve the issue, All Jammu Civil Society Forum has maintained that the proposed dialogue has to be with all stake holders.
“The dialogue has to be with the civil societies of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh. The political leaders of State have already played their cards and proved to be defunct, non-governing and adding fuel to fire by loose statements rather than dousing the fire,” said Gulchain Singh Charak, convenor of the Civil Society Forum, while addressing a press conference, here today.
Alleging that Jammu and Ladakh were suffering because of Kashmir, Mr Charak said that due to unrest in Valley, business, trade, tourism and religious pilgrimages here have vastly suffered this season. “Our business community is suffering huge losses for no fault of theirs while the IT and other tax collectors are harassing the Jammu traders for making up their target collections,” he explained.
“The Jammu region has also suffered as Government is at a standstill with offices closed in Kashmir and there is no alternative arrangements for Jammu to at least clear the backlog by opening the parts of Summer Secretariat in Jammu,” Mr Charak said and added that Jammu based projects, heritage care and even the infrastructure of newly approved prestigious institutes were all hanging in balance.
The Forum exhorted all the meaning full people of Jammu province to rise, awake and raise the united voice against injustice being meted out with them. “Let us sit together and think which type of future we are planning for our coming generation,” Mr Charak said.
The Forum  leaders also  exhorted Kashmir civil society to wake up to the realities and not to fall prey to the evil designs of inimical forces who want to ruin the Kashmiri poor children to have in hand cheaply available ‘Gun Fodder’.  “The threats from across the border be understood in that light and condemned instead of preparing another young generation as ‘gun fodder’ for their (Pakistan) wicked designs,” they added.
Others, who were present in the press conference, included Abdul Majid, Annil Suri,  G A Khawaja,  Yash Paul Gupta,  Maj  Gen Goverdhan Singh Jamwal,  Neeraj Anand, Om Parkash Gupta, Amanat Ali Shah, Brig  M  S  Jamwal (Retd.),  Raghbir Gupta, V  K Grover, Madan Rangila, Janak Khajuria, Mohd.
