JAMMU, Oct 31: In an Inter District Division Level Competitions in the sports discipline of Cricket for U-19 boys concluded at Khel Gaon Nagrota, here today in which Jammu defeated Poonch in the final.
Earlier, Department of Youth Services and Sports District Jammu hosted Inter District Divisional Level Competition in which all the 10 teams of Division Jammu participated during the five days tournament.
Jammu won the toss and elected to bat first and scored 150 runs for loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Ashutosh made highest 46 runs in 32 balls, Sqlain and Mannat made 39 and 20 runs in 33 balls and 22 balls respectively. The best wicket taker from District Poonch side was Harsh Bali (2 wickets in 4 overs with 26 runs) and Sohail Abass (2 Wickets) in four overs by giving 26 runs.
In the return, District Poonch made only 92 runs (all out) in 15 overs. The best wicket taker from Jammu District was Rammit with 3 wickets and Ajeet 3 wickets each and Jammu District won by 58 runs.
The tournament was organized under the patronage of Director Youth Services and Sports JK-UT Subhash Chander Chibber and the guidance of Joint Director, Youth Services and Sports Jammu Suram Chand Sharma and under the overall supervision of Sukhdev Raj Sharma DYSSO Jammu.
The competition/matches were officiated by Sandeepan Sharma, Satpal Singh, Suresh Sharma, Madan Mohan, Vishal Bhalhotra and Vikram Dogra.
