JAMMU, July 28: National Secular Forum has criticized Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Govt of India for its utter failure to fulfill the long pending demand of artists of Jammu Division, who are devoid of the facilities of full-fledged Duggar Satellite Channel in Jammu on the analogy of Kashmir Division.
Addressing a press conference here today, NSF State President Dr Vikas Sharma said that Jammu Doordarshan Kendra has been reduced to the status of almost relay unit having no financial provision to hold recordings of Artists who are suffering due to apathetic attitude of Doordarshan authorities.
He pointed out that Kashmir region has been provided its own Satellite Kashir Channel as well as independent Doordarshan Kendra since long exclusively meant to cater to the needs of Kashmiri art, culture and languages for which there is no grudge, but on the other hand Jammu Division has been meted out step motherly treatment.
Vikas appealed Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to take up this matter with the Govt of India for urgent action to provide Satellite Duggar Channel.
