JAMMU, July 29: Former President of Chamber of Commerce and Industry and President JKJCCI and Member AIIMS Coordination Committee, Y V Sharma today urged the Central as well as State Government not to put the civil society to trouble by delaying the decision on setting up of AIIMS at Jammu.
“The demand of the Jammu for AIIMS is very long and steps in this direction were initiated by former Health Minister Sushma Swaraj when she laid down foundation stone for AIIMS at Jammu during the regime of previous NDA Government”, he said, adding “needless to say that the Jammu deserves AIIMS by all parameters. Moreover, AIIMS at Jammu can also cater to the medical needs of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh”.
In view of the pervious decision to set up AIIMS at Jammu and the written commitment of DyCM the Government should declare its decision clearly without any ambiguity, Sharma said, adding “Jammu wants a full-fledged AIIMS as already promised and nothing less failing which Government would be responsible for the consequence of the ongoing struggle.
