JAMMU, Dec 11: The Jammu District Boxing Championship concluded with spectacular performances at the Indoor Sports Complex, MA Stadium, here today.
In the Sub-Junior category, Kameshwar claimed the gold in the 40-43kg weight category, while Rohit Sharma took home the gold in the 46-49kg category. The Junior Boys saw Manjeet Singh winning the gold in the 44-46kg category, and Vishesh Singh clinching the gold in the 46-48kg weight class. In the 54-58kg Junior Boys category, Rishi Aditya bagged the gold, followed by Ayush Jagotra winning gold in the 57-60kg category. Kulbir Singh secured the gold in the 60-63kg category, while Nikul Mattoo triumphed in the 70-75kg weight class.
The Youth category saw Basudev take the gold in his weight class, with Narayan Majotra and Krishna Mehta both winning gold in the 50-55kg division. In the 60-65kg Youth category, Rajneesh Kumar clinched the gold. In the Elite (senior) category, Aarif Mohd won the gold in the 46-51kg weight class, while Prajwal Jamwal took home the gold in the 54-57kg category. Rahul triumphed in the 63.5-67kg weight class, Deepak Kumar won the gold in the 71-75kg category, and Nikhil Sharma claimed the gold in the 75-80kg category.
The championship was graced by Baldev Singh, vice president of the Bar Association Jammu, and former boxer, as the chief guest. The event was officiated by Anil Wadhera and Anju Bala.
