Jammu District Indian Style Wrestling Championship concludes

JAMMU, July 22: Jammu District Indian Style Wrestling Association in collaboration with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association organized District Championship in Wrestling at Baba Mir Shah Akhara, Domana, here today.
The Championship was held under the overall supervision of Shiv Kumar Sharma, president J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association.
63 wrestlers participated in the championship in six weight categories of 55 kg, 60 kg, 66 kg, 74 kg, 84 kg and 120 kg from different Akharas and clubs of Jammu district.
Director Rural Development Department Jammu, SA Raina was the chief guest on the occasion who presented medals and certificates to the wrestlers, while senior vice president J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association and president District Jammu, Inderjeet Khajuria presided over the function.
BDO Bhalwal Azaz Kesar and Sarpanch Shamsher Singh Chib were the guests of honour.
The overall championship was won by Baba Mir Shah Akhara, Domanna by scoring 27 points while Bajrangi Akhara, Jammu remained runner-up by scoring 19 points.
Technical officials who helped in conduct of this one day wrestling championship included Mulk Raj Sharma NIS Wrestling Coach, chairman Technical Committee, Bansi Lal Tidyal,  general secretary, Kulbir Singh, Govind Singh, Raj Hussian, Om Parkash Sharma, Krishan Lal, Mohd. Fareed, Subash Singh Chib and Balraj Sharma.
