Jammu District Inter-School Girls Choi Kwang-do, Karate competitions conclude

JAMMU, July 24: Inter School District Level Competitions of District Jammu in the sports disciplines of Choi Kwang-do Under 17 and 19 years Girls and Karate Under-19 years Girls concluded today at MA Stadium, Indoor Complex, and Stephen Public School, Miran Sahib, here.
In all, 64 Girls drawn across from 14 Zones of Jammu District took part in the competitions.
The competitions were organized by the Department of Youth Services & Sports under the patronage of Shiekh Fayaz Ahmad, Director General, Youth Services & Sports and under the overall supervision of Madan Lal, Joint Director Youth Services & Sports Jammu. Chanchal Kour, DYSSO Jammu was the Organising Secretary of the tournament.
The main objective of the tournament was to select the teams of District Jammu for the next level of competitions.
In Choi Kwang-do Under-19 Girls at Stephen Public School Miran Sahib, Nitasha of the same school won gold in 42-45 Kg category, while Naaz Choudhary of Stephen International School Miran Sahib bagged silver in this category.
In 45-48 Kg, Harshmeet Kour of Stephen International School Miran Sahib won gold, while in 48-51 Kg, the gold was bagged by Smarkia of Stephen International School and the silver went to Naargis Salaria of Stephen International School Miran Sahib.
In 51-54 Kg, Prachi of Stephen International School Miran Sahib claimed gold.
In Karate Under-19 (Girls) at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, Riya Singh of BSK Domana won gold medal in 44-48 Kg, while in 48-52 Kg, Anjum Shaleen of APS Kalu Chak     clinched gold and in 56-60 Kg
Shivani Dutta of BSK Domana claimed gold.
The matches were officiated by a panel of experts of the Department of Youth Services and Sports.
