JAMMU, May 24: Inter-School District Level Competitions of Jammu District in the sports disciplines of Hockey (Girls) and Football (Boys), under the age group of 14 and 17 years gets underway at Hakhu Stadium and GGM Science College ground, here today.
In Under-14 girls Hockey, Govt MS Gorkha Nagar lifted the title, while in Under-17 girls Hockey, Govt MS Akalpur claimed the title.
The competitions are being organised by the Department of Youth Services & Sports under the patronage of Shiekh Fayaz Ahmad, Director General, Youth Services and Sports and under the overall supervision of Madan Lal, Joint Director. Chanchal Kour, DYSSO Jammu is the Organising Secretary of the tournament.
In Football Under-14 boys at GGM Science College Ground, SOS Jammu beat KB Public School by 2-0 goals, Heritage Public School outplayed APS Kaluchak by 6-5 goals via tie- breaker, APS Ratnuchak beat KC International by 2-0 goals, while in Football Under-17 boys, Heritage Public School drubbed APS Ratnuchak by 1-0 goal, APS Miran Sahib defeated SOS Jammu by 1-0 goal and KC Public School beat APS Kaluchak by 2-0 goals.
The matches were officiated by the panel of experts of the Department of Youth Services of Sports.
