JAMMU, Sept 7: Three days Jammu District Judo Championship, being organized by J&K Judo Association under the aegis of J&K State Sports Council and J&K Olympic Association, commenced at indoor complex, MA Stadium, here today.
Ravi Singh, Divisional Sports Officer was the chief guest on the occasion, while RC Thakur, Senior Vice President J&K Judo Association was the guest of honour.
The bouts were officiated by Suraj Bhan Singh, Arshi Nad, Vikas Dogra, Ritika Slathia, Rameshwar Singh Jamwal and Rohit Sadotra. Vikas Gupta is the Organizing Secretary of the Championship.
Prominent persons present on the occasion were Virinder Dogra, Shiv Kumar, Suraj Sharma, Anil Wadera, Sidharth Sharma and Rajesh Sharma.
In U-6 boys, Karesh and Angat secured first and second positions respectively.
In U-8 (20 kg), Aditya and Abhay bagged first and second positions respectively, while the third position was shared by Kridhay and Mukhter Ahmed. In 25 kg, Swanik and Ashavik bagged first and second positions respectively, while the third position was shared by Shivansh and Mohammad Anies. In open weight, Arush and Yashveer bagged first and second positions respectively, while the third position was shared by Divansh and Agrim.
In U-10 (20 kg), Laksh and Anand Gupta bagged first and second positions respectively, while the third position was shared by Shivansh and Samar, in 25 kg, Brahm and Bhagesh clinched first and second positions respectively, while the third position was shared by Shakit and Arishabh, in 30 kg, Suryansh and Vishadev bagged first and second positions respectively, while the third position was shared by Manik and Jatin, in 35 kg, Gourav and Divyansh bgged first and second positions respectively, while the third position was shared by Vihaan Gupta and Samarpan Sharma, in 40 kg, Shurya Dev and Archit bagged first and second positions respectively, while the third position was shared by Saksham and Sparksh, in above 40 kg, Arhav and Aush Khajuria bagged first and second positions respectively, while Ridham and Yashvardan shared third position.
In Open Weight Neeraj Thakur and Kouvan Gupta clinched first and second positions respectively, in U-8 girls (20 kg), Akriti and Anaida clinched first and second positions respectively, while Heena and Ishita shared third position, in 25 kg, Adhira, Gurperal Koul and Harshita clinched first, second and third positions respectively.
In U-10(20 kg), Ambika and Harika bagged first and second positions respectively, in 25 kg, Sharvi and Bhavni clinched first and second positions respectively, in 30 kg, Nagampreet and Kritika bagged first and second positions respectively, while the third position was shared by Pragati and Kanishka, in 32 kg, Harshita and Banvi Sharma bagged first and second positions respectively, in 40 kg, Avni Pandit, Astha and Shazia first, second and third positions respectively and in above 40 kg, Kashish, Diya and Anvi bagged first, second and third positions respectively.
