JAMMU, Mar 26: The Jammu District Open Lawn Tennis Championship for U-12, U-14 and U-18 Boys and Girls began today at the MA Stadium Tennis Courts. The championship, running from March 26 to 29, was inaugurated by Dr. ADS Manhas, a veteran player from J&K, in the presence of officials from the J&K Lawn Tennis Association.
In the Under-14 Boys Singles, the first-round results were: Abhyam Verma defeated Aiyaan Arif by 7-1, Manjot Singh triumphed over Parth Gupta by 7-0, Khushansh Magotra won against Herman Singh by 7-0, and Piyush Kumar beat Ayank Jaiswal by 7-2.
The second-round matches saw Prithvi Sharma defeating Manot Singh by 7-3, Makul Mehra beating Khushansh Magotra by 7-4, Aanan Bhat winning against Piyush Kumar by 7-3, and Mayank Gupta securing a 7-2 victory over Abhyam Verma. With intense competition ahead, the championship continues to provide thrilling tennis action for local fans until March 29.
