Jammu Division, Kashmir Division share honours

JAMMU, Nov 4: Kashmir Division and Jammu Division shared honours on day-1 of the State Level Inter-Division Table Tennis Championship, which got underway at Indoor Complex MA Stadium, here today.
Earlier, in Table Tennis Under-19 girls, Kashmir Division drubbed Jammu Division by (3-0) in an easy contest.
Sehnaz Anjum of Kashmir got better of Purvi Sharma of Jammu by (11-9, 11-9), Farheen Showkat of Kashmir outplayed Sukriti Saraf of Jammu by (11-5, 11-7) and Zahra Henaz of Kashmir trounced Tania Sharma of Jammu by (11-5, 9-11, 11-9).
Meanwhile in Table Tennis Under-19 boys, Jammu division defeated Kashmir Division in three straight games (3-0). Ambu Sharma outclassed Mohd Anwar by (11-1, 11-6), Sanpreet Singh got better of Mohd Ali by (11-3, 11-4) and Sanpreet Singh again defeated Mohd Anwar by (11-6, 11-4).
The competitions are being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, under the patronage of Naveen Aggarwal, Director General Youth Services and Sports, while Ved Prakash, Deputy Director is the chairman of organizing committee and Tirath Ram, DYSSO, Jammu supervising the event.
Earlier, DG Sports alongwith Deputy Director Kanchan Bala visited the venue to encourage the players, who apart from vying for the top honours are displaying their skill to get the selectors nod to be picked for National School Games.
