JAMMU, June 23: Thirty four years old Mechanical Engineer from Miran Sahib Rajesh Kumar has turned out to be lucky as he safely returned from Iraq and reached his house this evening reuniting with his family after about two years.
Kumar along with several India was trapped in trouble Basra City of Iraq.
He reached his house at Krishna Nagar Colony at Miran Sahib this evening.
Rajesh Kumar, who had been working with Dubai based Sopranjali Construction Company as Mechanical Engineer and was presently posted at Basra, said he managed to return from Iraq as the company, which had engaged him, arranged air ticket for him. He boarded the flight from Iraq at 7.30 pm (IST) yesterday and reached Delhi in the midnight and straightway headed for Jammu.
He reached his house at Miran Sahib this evening much to the jubilation of his family and the people of his locality.
Rajesh said it was due to the prayers of his family members, well wishers and media, which highlighted plight of Indians stranded in Iraq, that he was back home.
He said he was delighted to meet his wife and two years old son after a long time.
Swaran Dass Choudhary, father of Rajesh Kumar, said the Indian Government should also ensure return of other Indian including two youths of RS Pura and Samba, who were also trapped in Iraq.
“The Government should take steps for return of Indians from Iraq as situation was turning from bad to worst there,” Rajesh Kumar said.
The family members of Rajesh Kumar were seen offering prayers and distributing sweets on the return of Rajesh from Iraq.
