Jammu girls emerge winners at 23rd Sub-Junior UT Kabaddi C’ship

UDHAMPUR, Mar 16: The second day of the 23rd Sub-Junior UT Kabaddi Championship for Boys & Girls at the Indoor Sports Complex, Subash Stadium, Udhampur, witnessed thrilling semi-final and final matches. In the girls’ final, Jammu emerged victorious, defeating the Udhampur district team by a 47-33 scoreline, clinching the championship with a 13-point margin.
In the boys’ knockout matches, Jammu beat Budgam by 28-23, Baramulla defeated Kathua by 39-37, Udhampur triumphed over Rajouri by 47-20 and Poonch overcame Anantnag by 28-16.
Earlier, in the girls’ semi-finals, Udhampur defeated Kathua by 22-19 and Jammu dominated Rajouri by 31-9.
The winning and runner-up trophies were presented by Ashok Kumar Salhotra, former Director of Sports at SMVD Katra and Senior Vice President of the School Games Federation of India. The medal ceremony was conducted by Ashok Kumar, Sheikh Tanveer (President, Udhampur District Kabaddi Association) and Abdul Rehman Paddar. The final match was officiated by Mir Alam and Naveen Sharma.
