JAMMU, Sept 2: A seminar on management of complex fistula in ano and management of Haemorrhoids was organized at Jammu Institute of Ayurveda and Research, Nardini, here today.
Dr Shiv Ji Gupta, Professor, Department of Shalyatantra, IMS, BHU, Varanasi and Dr Ashish Sharma, Medical Officer, Department of Shalyatantra, IMS, BHU, Varanasi, delivered a lecture on the topic.
The seminar was attended by the students of Jammu Institute of Ayurveda and Research and faculty of the College.
Chairperson of the Sri Sai Charitable Trust, Suman Sharma, Managing Director, Er Ravish, Mr Ritesh, Principal Dr Raghuvir Singh, Vice Principal Dr Nitin Mahajan and other members of the Management were present in the seminar.
Main focus areas of the seminar were various treatment modalities available for management of fistula in ano and Haemorrhoids.
Dr Shiv ji Gupta explained a new technique known as IFTAK or Window technique for the management of fistula, which had laid new dimensions for the management of complex fistulous tracks and recurred fistula.
Dr Ashish explained also a new technique called as Kshar application on the piles masses, which is highly beneficial for the patient, as patient can be discharged within few minutes after the procedure. Moreover, Shalyatantra Department of Jammu Institute of Ayurveda and Research, Nardini and Jammu Urban Hospital, Pamp-osh colony, Janipur is serving the ailing humanity with these traditional Ayurvedic techniques of Acharya Sushruta more than 17 years and had wonderful results.
The programme was coordinated by Dr Sudesh Gupta, Associate Professor and Dr Pooja Gupta, Assistant Profe-ssor, Post Graduate Department of Shalyatantra, Jammu Institute of Ayurveda and Research, Nardani, Jammu.
