JAMMU, Sept 3: Scripting convincing wins over their rivals in the finals, District Jammu and District Kathua lifted the boys and girls titles respectively in the Divisional Level Inter-District Under-19 Badminton Tournament, organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports at MA Stadium, here today.
In boys singles, Satyam Raina of Jammu defeated Vikram of Udhampur by (21-18, 13-21, 21-15), while in doubles, Zaefal and Ayush defeated Dhananjay and Abhishek by (21-15, 9-21, 21-13).
In badminton Under-19 girls singles final, Shikha Sharma of Kathua outplayed Bhavna Gupta of Jammu by (21-9, 21-9), while in girls doubles final, Shikha and Anusurya of Kathua got better of Bhavna and Shriya of Jammu in straight sets by (21-13, 21-16).
The matches were officiated by Harcharan Singh, Vikram Jamwal and Assa Singh, while the tournament was held under the overall supervision of Ved Parkash, Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports, Jammu.
Meanwhile, the events in judo girls all age groups and wushu girls all age groups were also held during the day, which were officiated by Jatinder Kumar, Jagder Singh, Amolak Singh and Dalbir Singh.
