J&K UT Softball, Baseball5 C’ship culminates

SRINAGAR, Mar 27: The J&K UT Softball and Baseball5 Championship 2024-25, organized by the J&K Softball Association in collaboration with the Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council, culminated at Bakshi Stadium, Srinagar. The three-day event saw over 500 athletes from 14 districts of Jammu and Kashmir competing in various categories of Softball and Baseball5.
Dr. Iqbal Hussain Wani, Deputy Director of Industries & Commerce Kashmir, graced the closing ceremony as the chief guest. Nusrat Gazala, Divisional Sports Officer Kashmir, and several key officials were also present.
District Jammu emerged victorious in both the Senior Men’s and Women’s Softball categories. In the Sub-Junior Boys, District Srinagar claimed the title, while Udhampur was the runner-up. The Junior Boys’ title went to Srinagar, with Udhampur winning the Junior Girls’ category.
In the Baseball5 Junior Boys category, Udhampur bagged the title, while Pulwama secured the Sub-Junior Boys’ Baseball5 trophy.
Dr. Wani congratulated the J&K Softball Association for organizing the event and pledged continuous support for the development of Softball in the region. Medals and trophies were distributed to the winners, with a vote of thanks given by Waseem Raja Khan, General Secretary of the J&K Softball Association.
