JAMMU, Dec 1: The Jammu Midnight Marathon Season 2, held at Maulana Azad Stadium, Jammu, witnessed a spectacular turnout of over 350 participants. Organized by Real Time Sports and the J&K Sports Council, the event featured races across various categories, including the 5K, 10K, Half Marathon (21.1 km), and Full Marathon (42.2 km).
In the 5K race, Ajay Kumar, Aryan Sharma and Bharat Kumar triumphed in the male category, while Sonia Devi, Shivali and Akshani Sharma claimed the top spots in the female category. The 10K race saw Brij Bhushan, Pankaj Kumar and Eklove Sharma take the top places in the male under-35 category, with Anjali Rajput, Zoha Barkat and Sonia Sharma securing the podium for the female under-35 category.
In the Half Marathon, Amit Kumar, Ritik Sharma and Kartik Sudan excelled in the male under-35 category, while Rimpi Devi, Maj Garima Puniani and Namika Mahajan claimed top positions for females under-35. Vishal Kapoor, Surinder Choudhary and Hemanshu Parkash triumphed in the male and female categories for those above 50 years.
In the Full Marathon, Samvit Sharma, Sindhu Sharma and Dheeraj Gupta topped the male 35-50 years category, while Tina Sahi emerged victorious in the female 35-50 category. Vishnu, the winner of the male under-35 category, and Rekha Katoch, the winner of the female above 50 category, were also celebrated for their remarkable performances.
The marathon concluded with an inspiring medal and T-shirt distribution ceremony, where YS&S Minister Satish Sharma and Secretary J&K Sports Council, Nuzhat Gul praised the outstanding efforts of the organizers, sponsors, and volunteers, acknowledging their vital role in hosting a successful event.
