UDHAMPUR, Oct 8: Migrants of Districts Udhampur, Doda, Ramban and Reasi held a protest against alleged discrimination with them by not giving all benefits and status at par with the migrants of Kashmir valley.
The protestors took out a procession, led by Sher Singh, president of the migrants. Raising slogans in support of their demands, they reached at the Office of Deputy Commissioner Udhampur and submitted a memorandum addressed to Union Minister of Finance through the Deputy Commissioner Udhampur.
In the memorandum, the migrants stated that in spite of ruling made by State High Court and Supreme Court to provide relief to the migrants of Jammu province at par with the Kashmiri migrants, the State and Central Governments have not implemented the courts orders. They also mentioned that the State Cabinet had also made a decision on June 20, 2013 that the migrants of Jammu province would be given all facilities and other aids at par with Kashmiri migrants.
