Jammu Police XI scripts narrow win in high scoring match

JAMMU, Jan 31: Jammu Police XI registered a narrow win by 11 runs in the high scoring match against Khalsa Cricket Club in the 4th Eid Diwali Christmas T20 Cricket Cup for students and youths of the state and entered into the semifinals at Parade Ground , here today.
The tournament in which 24 teams are participating is being organized jointly by Jammu and Kashmir Police Department, Simula Sports Club, Atman Sports Club and Christian Sports Organization.
The Organizing Committee includes Hilal Rather, Sanjay Mahajan, Rajesh Gill, David Mattoo, Asif Gill, Rajesh Dhar, RP Singh, Sunil Sambyal and Sunny Gill.
The slogan of the tournament is “Khelo Khushi Sey- Par Nasha Mat karo”.
Batting first, Jammu Police XI scored 195 runs in the stipulated 20 overs for the loss of 6 wickets. Ishtiaq top scored with 83 runs and Umar Nabi also made 47 runs. From bowling Side, Manu, Harpreet and Vishal shared 1 wicket each.
Khalsa Club, in reply, managed to score 184 runs, thus lost the match by a narrow margin of11 runs . Vivek Singh and Harinder were the main scorer with 31 and 27 runs. Skipper Rajesh Gill took 3 wickets, while Amir and Ishtiaq took 2 wickets each for Police team. Ishtiaq was declared as Man of the Match.
The matches were officiated by Sadiq Hussain, Sandeep Manchanda, Vinod, Sanju and Danny.
