Jammu, Ramban lift under-17, 14 Volleyball trophies

UDHAMPUR, Oct 21: Jammu and Ramban districts lifted the championship trophies by defeating Doda and Kathua on the 2nd day of Provincial level Inter-district Volleyball tournament for boys under-17 and under-14 respectively, being organised by Youth Services and Sports at SIKS Model HSS Boys, Mini Stadium and Subash Stadium, here today.
About 190 students along with 25 incharge teachers from all 10 districts of Jammu division are participating in the tournament.
Chief guest of the event was Vinod Kumar, SSP Udhampur, while Mohd Rafiq Jaral, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Arvin Koul CEO, Dr Jogeshwar Gupta Chairman Municipality and Anil Arora, Councillor were the special guests.
At Court No.1 (U/17), District Doda defeated district Kishtwar by (25-12, 25-18) 2-0 sets, while Samba beat Poonch by (25-13), (23-25), (15-13) 2-1 sets, and Doda trounced Rajouri by (25-14), (25-16) 2-0 sets, besides Doda defeated Samba by (25-22), (25-18) 2-0 sets in semi-finals.
At Court No. 2 (U-17), Ramban beat Kathua by (25-23), (25-19), (15-10) 2-1 sets, Jammu defeated Udhampur by (25-15), (25-16),(15-13) 2-1 sets and Ramban trounced Reasi by (25-14), (25-13) 2-0 sets, besides Jammu defeated Ramban by (25-22), 23-25), (15-12) 2-1 sets in semi-finals.
At Court No. 3(U/14), Kathua defeated Poonch by (25-21), (25-18), 2-0 sets, Jammu trounced Reasi by (25-23), (20-25), (25-22) 2-1 sets, Ramban beat Rajouri by (25-20), (25-23) 2-0 sets and Samba defeated Udhampur by (25-20), (25-15), 2-0 sets, while Ramban defeated Jammu by (25-15), (25-22) 2-0 sets and Kathua trounced Samba by (25-14), (25-17) 2-0 sets in semi-finals.
Jammu defeated Doda by (25-21), (25-16) (28-26) 3-0 sets in U/17 finals, while Ramban beat Kathua by (25-23), (25-17), 2-0 sets in U/14 finals.
