JAMMU, Jan 11: Jammu Rising Stars scripted second win in the ongoing 7-matches cricket series for junior cricketers which is being played at Parade Ground, here.
The 7-matches series is being organized by Vishal Cricket Club Jammu under the supervision of Rajesh Gill, Former Ranji Player, with the objective to provide platform to the junior cricketers to showcase their hidden talent and sharpen their skills.
Earlier, batting first, Jammu Rising Stars scored 126 runs for 7 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs, with Kannav (25), Sachin (24), Umar Sadiq (19) and Rohan Gill (17) being the main scorers. Amit took 3 wickets, Ashim Nanda took 2 wickets, while Praful Dhar and Agastaya shared 1 wicket each.
Vishal Rising Stars, in reply could not achieve the target in 20 overs and made 124 runs by losing 4 wickets. Araya Sachivansh was the top scorer with 62 runs and Akshit Gandral made 32 runs. In the last over batting team required 8 runs then they require 3 runs in 2 balls but they did not complete the game with positive note and thus lost the match by 2 runs. Umar took 3 wickets and Jugjap Singh took 1 wicket for the team. Umar Sadiq was adjudged man of the match for his alround performance.
The third match of the league will be played tomorrow at 9.30.
