JAMMU, Mar 24: Jammu Rising Stars registered second consecutive win in the ongoing “5-Match Cricket Evaluation Series for Junior Cricketers”, which is being played at Parade Ground here.
The Cricket Series for Junior Cricketers in which teams namely Jammu Rising Stars and Vishal Kings Jammu are participating is being organized jointly by Jammu Sports Council and J&K Sports Promoters Club Jammu. The slogan of the tournament is “Sports Shall Live On… ” .
In today’s match, Vikrant Sharma, Chief Prosecuting Officer DPO Jammu was the Chief Guest, who was accompanied with Rajesh Gill, Organizing Secretary of the event, Mohd Rafiq, Sr PO and Ravi Kant, SHO Bus Stand.
The chief guest alongwith other dignitaries interacted with the budding cricketers of Jammu on the occasion.
Mr Sharma bestowed some cricketing tips to young cricketers and conveyed his best wishes to them.
Earlier, Jammu Rising Stars defeated Vishal Jammu Kings by 10 wickets.
Batting first, Vishal Jammu Kings scored 121 runs for the loss of two wickets in the stipulated 20 overs , with Sachin(53) and Akshit (51) being the main scorers.
From Jammu Rising Stars, Dhruv took 1 wicket for his team.
Jammu Rising Stars, in reply achieved the target in 16.3 overs without losing any wicket, thus won the match by 10 wickets. Rohan Gill was the main contributor with magnificent unbeaten 49 runs, while Arya Sachivansh scored 29 runs (retired hurt) and Shivansh contributed unbeaten 23 runs for Jammu Rising Stars.
Rohan Gill was adjudged as the man of the match.
The match was officiated by Sandeep Manchanda, Sanjay Manchanda and Vinod Kandayara.
