JAMMU, Dec 17: Jammu Sanskriti School, celebrated its Annual Sports meet Udaan-V “Marushika” here.
The day was consecrated in the presence of SP Vaid, Transport Commissioner, J&K, who was the chief guest. Ranjeet Kalra (former cricketer, Advisor for Sports & Youth Affair, Government of Lakshadweep) was the guest of honour.
Gaurav Gupta (barefoot runner & Secretary CCI), Bana Singh (PVC recipient), Palbinder Singh (Kho-Kho International Player), Shubham Bhau (Kho-Kho International Player), Rajinder Singh (Common Wealth Fames Wushu, World Cup Asian games), Shreya Gupta (International Common Wealth Junior & cadet fencing) and Ram Singh Slathia (Everester) were special invitees.
Principals from various institutions, chairperson, Harpreet Singh Anand along with other members from management also graced the occasion.
The event embarked with the welcome address by Head Girl of the school Rohini Sharma followed by Balloon releasing ceremony to mark the commencement of the event. Subsequentially the olympic light was lighted by Sports Captain who manifested the ignition of fire to achieve the goals.
In Annual report, Principal cum Vice-Chairperson, Rohini Aima, spotlighted the achievements of the students which brought laurels on State as well as at National level.
The main highlights of the event were 100m race, 200 & 400m relay races by senior students. The students also enthralled the audience with their fun-filled races which included one leg race, matka race, hurdle race and many more. The special attraction of the show was the demonstration of the aerobic performances and Yoga which were indeed captivating.
The students also displayed wide array of colorful and reverberant events which mesmerized the audience. The main attraction of the event was Grand Finale garrisoned on the theme of Freedom struggle.
Meritorious students in various fields of sports & games were felicitated with trophies & medals by the chief guest, guest of honour and special invitees.
