JAMMU, FEb 17: Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu hosted the second edition of its Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Global Exhibition, bringing together a dynamic group of dignitaries, educators and young change makers.
The event began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolizing wisdom and enlightenment. This was followed by colorful cultural performances that celebrated the students’ rich heritage and future aspirations. The performances encapsulated the themes of unity, progress, and sustainability, which are central to the SDGs.
Shantmanu, Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary) of the School Education Department, was the chief guest and emphasized the transformative power of education in fostering sustainable development. Indu Kanwal Chib, Chairperson of JKSSB, delivered a compelling keynote address that inspired students to take on the mantle of change. Ashok Kumar Sharma, Director of School Education, also attended the event, contributing to the gathering’s depth.
The panel discussion featured esteemed speakers, including Dr. Sindhu Kapoor (Joint Director, JKSCERT), Devyani Rana (Vice-President, BJYM), Advocate Sheikh Shakeel Ahmed (Legal Expert), Dr. Chand Trehan (Renowned Counsellor) and Dr. Romesh Sharma (HOD, DIET).
Principal-Cum-Vice Chairperson, Rohini Aima, emphasized the school’s mission to empower students to think globally and act purposefully. The event concluded with a call to action, urging attendees to contribute to a sustainable future.
