Jammu Sports, J&K Bank Academy smash opponents; advance to next round

* Young Rover’s to clash with Musa Club today

JAMMU, Apr 3: Jammu Sports and J&K Bank Academy smashed their opponents in their respective matches and advanced to the next round of the ongoing 1st Vishal Heer Memorial Football Tournament, being organised by Young Heroes Football Club under the aegis of J&K Football Association (JKFA) at Government Gandhi Memorial (GGM) Science College football ground today.
In the first match of the day, Jammu Sports crushed New Bharat Club by straight four goals to zero (4-0).
In the first half of the match, Davian of Jammu Sports netted the first goal of the match in the 15th minute and again bounced back and scored another goal in the 17th minute. Back-to-back goals scored by Davian brought the opponent New Bharat Club team players under pressure.
In the 25th minute, Ashish of Jammu Sports netted the goal and raised the scoreboard to 3-0 goals, which the opponent team players failed to equalize and the first half ended with 3-0 goals.
In the second half, players of New Bharat Club restricted the players of Jammu Sports to score goal for around half an hour, but Atul of Jammu Sports after finding a breach scored the goal in the 65th minute and shattered the dreams of New Bharat Club players to win the match.
In the remaining 5 minute game, players of New Bharat Club were looking dominated. They lost the match by 4-0 goals and helped Jammu Sports to register berth in the next round of the tournament.
Meanwhile, J&K Bank Academy registered four goals to zero (4-0) win over Churchill Brothers and sailed into the next round of the tournament.
In the first half, Parveen Kumar of J&K Bank Academy team scored the first goal in the 25th minute and raised the scorecard to 1-0 goal.
In the last minute of the first half, Rohit Kumar of J&K Bank Academy team netted the goal and brought the opponent team under extreme pressure of 2-0 goals.
As the players of Churchill Brothers were devising strategy to win the game, Pardeep Sharma of J&K Bank Academy team netted the goal in the 36th minute of the second half and raised the scoreboard to 3-0 goals, which the players of Churchill Brothers were finding difficult to equalise.
In the 63rd minute, Rohit of J&K Bank Academy team bounced back and netted the fourth goal of the match.
Churchill Brothers failed to win the match as it was just impossible for them to win the match in just remaining 7 minutes of the second half.
J&K Bank Academy team entered the next round of the tournament by quashing Churchill brothers by 4-0 goals.
The matches were witnessed by Harbans Lal, Charan Dass, Rohit Kumar, Rajesh Sumberia, Narinder Gupta and Suresh Gupta.
The matches were officiated by Tanpreet Singh, Koushal Sharma, Vijay Kumar, Harmanjeet Singh, Pankaj Kumar and Tushar Heer.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Young Rover’s will clash with Musa Club at the same venue.
