Jammu Superstars registers win over Jammu Warriors, sails into semis

JAMMU, Sept 6: Jammu Superstars registered emphatic win over Jammu Warriors by 14 runs and entered into the semis of the ongoing J&K Peace T-20 Championship, being organized by Vishal Cricket Club (VCC), Jammu and District Sports Council Jammu in collaboration with Sehwag Academy, here today.
In Group-A match played at Parade Ground, Jammu Superstars defeated Jammu Warriors by 14 runs. Batting first, Jammu Superstars scored 124 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 20 overs. Swastik Sharma scored 38 runs, while Surinder made 25 runs and Rohan Gill chipped in 21 runs. Praful Dhar and Sachin also contributed with 15 and 14 runs respectively and remained not out.
Dhruv and Areen took 1 wicket each from Jammu Warriors side.
In reply, Jammu Warriors could not chase the target and made 110 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 6 wickets. Akshit scored 26 runs, while Harsh Gupta and Druv made 24 and 23 runs respectively.
From Jammu Superstars side, Smarpit, Nalin and Sachin took 2 wickets each, while Gurdaat scalped 1 wicket.
Swastik Sharma of Jammu Superstars was declared as Man of the Match.
In Group-B match played at Sehwag Academy, Jammu Sunrisers smashed Jammu Kings by 8 wickets. Batting first, Jammu Kings scored 98 runs in 18.3 overs by losing all wickets. Aparjit Raina made 31 runs, while Sourav scored 12 runs and Kannav chipped in 10 runs.
From Jammu Sunrisers side, Kartik took 5 wickets, while Vatsal, Karmanya and Yuvraj scalped one wicket each.
In reply, Jammu Sunrisers achieved the target in 13.2 overs for the loss of 2 wickets. Shehzad played a splendid inning of 53 runs.
From Jammu Kings side, Hanjala and Devvats took 1 wicket each.
Kartik of Jammu Sunrisers was declared as Man of the Match.
The matches were officiated by Sadiq Hussain, Sandeep Manchanda, Vinod, Zafar and Suhail.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Jammu Superstars will lock horns with Jammu Kings.
