JAMMU, Oct 16: Maintaining supremacy in all age groups, district Jammu swept title trophies in the State Level Inter-District Basketball Tournament, organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, here.
The Tournament was organized as part of annual calendar of sports activities under the patronage of Jehangir Mir, Director General Youth Services and Sports and under the overall supervision of Madan Lal, Joint Director and Sukhdev Raj, DYSSO Jammu.
Later-on, Madan Lal was the chief guest on the concluding ceremony, who distributed trophies among winners and runner-up teams.
Speaking on the occasion, Madan Lal said that sports serves for delight, for ornament and for agility.
Earlier, in Basketball Under-14 boys final, Jammu District thrashed Udhampur by 30-0, with Jatin and Aditya scoring maximum points, while in Under-14 girls final, Jammu got better of Udhampur by 10-0. Apra scored 5 points and Swati scored 4 points.
In Basketball Under-17 girls, Jammu trounced Udhampur by 28-16. Sarabjeet scored 6 points, while Pearl and Tamana scored 5 points each.
In Basketball Under-19 girls, Jammu District beat Srinagar by 18-4.
The matches were officiated by Vishal Bharti, Sanjay Jamwal, Vaneet, Amit Kalsi, Ravinder Singh, Rajesh Bandral and Mousmi.
