Jammu to take on Doda in U-19 Cricket summit clash today

JAMMU, Aug 30: Inter District Division Level Tournaments in the discipline of cricket, being organized by Department of Youth Services and Sports were played at different venues.
JAMMU: On the second day of the ongoing Inter District Division level Cricket Tournament for under-19 boys, District Jammu will take on District Poonch in the summit clash tomorrow.
Earlier, in the first semis, District Jammu defeated District Poonch by 5 wickets and in the second semifinal, District Doda beat District Samba by 56 runs.
Inter School Zonel Level Tournament for under-19 boys and girls in the disciplines of Kabaddi, Kho-Kho and Kabbadi was played at Government Higher Secondary School, Canal Road.
In Kabaddi, GHSS Canal Road registered win over GHSS Rehari in the first match by 7 points and in the second match, GHSS Nowabad crushed GHSS jandrah by 7 points.
In Kho-Kho, GHSS Nagrota defeated GHSS Jandrah by 4 points, GHSS Dansal smashed GHSS Rehari by 1 point and GHSS Canal Road outplayed GHSS Canal Road by 2 points.
Inter School Tournament for under-19 boys and girls of Miran Sahib-RS Pura Zone in the discipline of Kho-Kho, Kabaddi and Volleyball held at Government High School, Kotli Shah Doula.
In Kabaddi, GBHSS RS Pura smahed GHSS Dablehar and lifted the title trophy, whereas in Volleyball final, GHSS Sai thrashed GBHSS RS Pura and emerged winner.
SAMBA: Inter District Division Level Cricket Tournament for under-14 boys’ was played here today. The final match was played between Doda District and Jammu District, in which former registered win by 8 wickets.
Batting first, Jammu made 60 runs, which the opponent Doda team chased by losing 2 wickets.
Aditya Abrol from Jammu District was declared as Best Bowler of the tournament. He bowled 10 overs and took 8 wickets by giving only 22 runs. Sourav Katoch from Doda District was declared as Best Batsman of the tournament. He scored 80 runs in the tournament. He was also declared as Man of the Match.
