JAMMU, Aug 30: Jammu Tigers and Jammu Warriors outclassed rivals in their respective matches and registered berth in the next phase of the ongoing J&K Peace T-20 Championship, being organized by Vishal Cricket Club, Jammu and District Sports Council Jammu in collaboration with Sehwag Academy at Parade ground, here today.
In Group-A Matches, Jammu Tigers defeated Jammu Kings by 19 runs. Batting first, Jammu Tigers scored 95 runs in 20 overs for 5 wickets. Abay Tondon made 40 runs and Anurag scored 20 runs.
From Jammu Kings side, Arihan took 2 wickets, while Hanjala and Dewats claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Jammu Kings failed to chase the target and bundled out at 76 runs in the stipulated 20 overs for the lost of 6 wickets. Aprajit Raina made 21 runs, while Huzaifa scored 12 runs.
From Jammu Tigers side, Jatin took 3 wickets, while Umar and Tushar shared 1 wicket each.
Abhay Tondon of Jammu Tigers was adjudged Man of the Match.
In Group-B matches, Jammu Sunrisers defeated Jammu Warriors by 5 wickets. Batting first, Jammu Warriors made 95 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 18 overs. Dhruv scored 23 runs, while Akshit made 21 runs and Achintiya chipped in 20 runs.
From Jammu Sunrisers side, Krishna, Karmanya, Vatsal and Daksh took 1 wicket each.
In the second inning, Jammu Sunrisers achieved the target in 18 overs for the lost of 5 wickets. Daksh played well and scored half century, while Kartik made 14 runs.
From Jammu Warriors side, Dhruv took 2 wickets and Nityam scalped 1 wicket.
Daksh of Jammu Warriors was adjudged the Man of the Match.
The matches were officiated by Sandeep Manchanda, Vinod, Zafar, Manjeet Singh and Suhail.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Jammu Tigers will take on Jammu Sunrisers and Jammu Warriors will lock horns with Jammu Kings.
