JAMMU, Oct 25: Defeating their rivals in well fought contests, Jammu United and Young Rovers registered convincing victories in the ongoing Senior Division Football League Tournament, being organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) at GGM Science College Football Ground, here.
Earlier, in the first match, Jammu United got better of Sainik Colony Football Club by a solitary goal (1-0). The first half remained goalless as both the teams played defensively, while in the second half, Rohit Salgotra was the goal scorer, who netted it in 59th minute of the match.
In another match, Young Rovers defeated Engineers XI by one goal to nil (1-0). Abhinav Singh pelted the goal in 43rd minute after the goalless first half. The players of both the teams showed superb soccer skills by making exhibition of defence and attack.
The matches were officiated by Moon Stephen, Kaushal Sharma, Sanjay Kumar, Amardeep Singh, Kamal Kumar and Harmanjeet Singh.
Param FC will take on Young Star at 2 pm tomorrow, while Jammu Sports will face Mussa Club at 3: 30 pm.
