Jammu University to clash with KU in summit clash tomorrow

JAMMU, Dec 1: Jammu University (JU) will clash with Kashmir University in the summit clash of All India Vice-Chancellor’s T-20 Cricket Tournament hosted by Jammu University on December 3.
Earlier, in the first semifinal match, Jammu University registered 56 runs victory over MANUU Hyderabad.
Batting first after winning the toss, Jammu University set a huge target of 184 runs in front of its opponent team for the loss of six wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Rajesh Verma played well and smashed some crispy shots in his 42 runs contribution including two boundaries and four lofty sixes, while, Prakshit also chipped in 41 runs with the help of six balls towards the fence. Raj Kumar, Amit Targotra and Sumit Sharma also made 24, 23 and 14 runs respectively.
For MANUU Hyderabad side, Abdul and Israr Alam scalped 2 wickets each, while Mahesh and Mohd Amar took one wicket apiece.
In reply, MANNU Hyderabad failed to chase the target and bundled out at 128 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Mahesh was the top scorer with in 37 runs including five boundaries.
For Jammu University side, Raj Kumar and Pawan Singh were the pick of the bowlers with 2 wickets each, while, Niranjan Singh and Skipper Daud Iqbal Baba scalped one wicket apiece.
Rajesh Verma of Jammu University was adjudged as man of the match for his all round performance.
Meanwhile, 85 runs contribution by Samiullah guided Kashmir University to thrash Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Science and Technology (SKUAST) Kashmir by 20 runs in a nail bitting second semifinal match.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, Kashmir University made 168 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in allotted 20 overs. Samiullah played well and chipped in some crispy shots in his 85 runs contribution including nine boundaries and two huge sixes, while, Sohail also showcased outclass batting performance and made 60 runs including five balls towards the fence, while, Shahnawaz also made 10 runs.
For SKUAST, Kashmir side, Ayub and Najeeb scalped 2 wickets each.
In reply, SKUAST Kashmir failed to chase the pace of Kashmir University bowlers and bundled out at 148 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in allotted 20 overs.
Samiullah was declared as man of the match for his superb batting performance.
