JAMMU, Oct 29: Jammu Vishal Stars defeated MIER Academy by 5 runs in a nail biting match to stay alive in the ongoing Under-15 Diwali T-20 League for boys, being organized by Vishal Club Jammu in collaboration with Jammu Police, at Parade Ground, here today.
Batting first, Jammu Vishal Stars scored 108 runs in stipulated 16 overs for the loss of 6 wickets. Surya was the top scorer with 25 runs, while Shivansh made 17 runs and Akshit chipped in 13 runs.
For MIER Academy side, Karmanya took 2 wickets, while Snoop and Shahid shared one wicket each.
In the second inning, MIER Academy could not chase the target and bundled out at 103 runs by losing 6 wickets in allotted 16 overs. Snoop was the highest scorer with 39 runs, while Aprajit made 24 runs and Arihaan Gupta scored 15 runs.
For Jammu Vishal Stars side, Adhishwer Kotwal, Sachin, Ashim Nanda and Jugjap shared 1 wicket each.
Surya was declared as Man of the Match.
The match was officiated by Sadiq Hussain, Sandeep Manchanda, Sanjay Manchanda, Madan and Shugul.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Jammu Rising Stars will take on Jammu Vishal Stars.
