Jammu Warriors, Jammu Sunrisers outclass rivals, sail to next stage

JAMMU, Sept 1: Jammu Warriors and Jammu Sunrisers outclassed rivals in their respective matches and sailed into the next stage of the ongoing J&K Peace T-20 Championship, being organized by Vishal Cricket Club Jammu and District Sports Council Jammu in collaboration with Sehwag Academy with the slogan “Lets’ Play for Peace”, here today.
In Group-A matches at Parade ground, Jammu Warriors defeated Jammu Superstars by 8 wickets. Batting first, Jammu Superstars scored 95 runs in 18 overs by losing 6 wickets. Sachin made 30 runs, while Arya Sachivansh scored 18 runs and Swastik Sharma chipped in 10 runs.
From Jammu Warriors side, Laith August and Dhruv scalped 2 wickets each, while Nityam took one wicket.
In reply, Jammu Warriors achieved the target in the second last ball of the inning by losing 5 wickets. Dhruv scored 25, while Harsh and Yuvraj made 15 runs each, Uttkarsh and Adhishwer chipped in 11 runs each.
From Jammu Superstars side, Nalin took 2 wickets, while Gurdaat, Smarpit and Yugan scalped one wicket each.
Dhruv of Jammu Warriors was adjudged as Man of the Match.
Meanwhile, in Group-B match at Sehwag Cricket Academy in Heritage School, Jammu Sunrisers crushed Jammu Kings XI by 37 runs. Batting first, Jammu Sunrisers scored 154 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 18 overs. Kartik played well and made half century, while Daksh scored 45 runs and Shajad chipped in 41 runs.
From Jammu Kings XI side, Uttkarsh took 2 wickets, while Aryan and Dewats scalped one wicket apiece.
In the second inning, Jammu Kings failed to chase the target and bundled out at 117 runs in 18 overs by losing 6 wickets. Surya chipped in 43 runs, while Sourav scored 23 runs and Kanav made 16 runs.
From Jammu Sunrisers side, Yuvraj, Atib and Kartik took 1 wicket each.
Kartik of Jammu Sunrisers was declared as Man of the Match.
The matches were officiated by Sandeep Manchanda, Vinod, Zafar, Manjeet Singh and Suhail.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Jammu Warriors will lock horns with Jammu Kings at Parade ground and Jammu Tigers will take on Jammu Superstars at Sehwag Academy.
