JAMMU, Sept 16: Jammu Division claimed Under-14 boys and girls and Under-17 girls title, while Kashmir Division clinched Under-17 boys title trophy in the State Level Inter-Division Handball Tournament, which got underway at Police Lines Handball Ground, here today.
The Tournament is being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, under the patronage of Navin Aggarwal, Director General.
Earlier, in handball Under-14 boys, Jammu defeated Kashmir in a one-sided affair by fourteen goals to three (14-3). Sunjanya Vaid and Aparav of Jammu Division scored 6 and 4 goals respectively, while in handball Under-14 girls, Jammu defeated Kashmir by nine goals to two (9-2) in an easy contest. Komal scored 4 goals for Jammu division, while Shallu and Nikita netted 3 and 2 goals respectively.
In handball Under-17 girls, Jammu Division thrashed Kashmir division by twelve goals to nil (12-0). Karuna and Rishika scored 5 goals each for Jammu division.
Meanwhile, in handball Under-17 boys, Kashmir Division defeated Jammu Division by nineteen goals to thirteen (19-13). Mohd Waseem scored 10 goals and Showket netted 5 goals for Kashmir Division, while for Jammu Division, Vansh and Surinder scored 5 goals each for Jammu division.
The matches were officiated by Ajay Kumar, Tariq, Sanjay Jamwal and Rajesh Bandral.
