Inter-District Handball, Fencing competitions conclude

JAMMU, Sept 29: District Jammu lifted the Under-17 and Under-19 boys Handball title trophies, while District Udhampur claimed the Under-14 boys Handball title in the Inter-District competitions which concluded at Guru Harkrishan Public School and MA Stadium, here today.
Earlier, in Under-14 boys Handball final, Udhampur defeated Poonch by 7 points, while in Handball Under-17 boys summit clash, Jammu drubbed Udhampur by 10 points and in Handball Under-19 boys final, Jammu trounced Udhampur by 17 points.
In Fencing Under-19 boys Sabre, Amit of District Jammu won gold, Saksham of District Jammu clinched silver, while Ajay of District Reasi and Jareson of District Jammu shared bronze.
In Under-19 boys Epee, Sawan of District Jammu and Parweshwar of District Jammu won gold and silver respectively, while Sohan of District Jammu and Mohd Tanveer of District Jammu claimed bronze medals.
In Under-19 boys Foil, Prancy of District Jammu and Gourav of District Reasi clinched gold and silver, while Jareson and Saksham of District Jammu shared bronze.
In Fencing Under-14 boys Epee, Devang of District Jammu won gold, Somay of District Jammu bagged silver, while Sunny of District Reasi and Sufiyan of District Jammu shared bronze medals.
In Under-14 boys Sabre, Harshit of District Jammu bagged gold, Aaryaveer of District Jammu claimed silver and the bronze medal was shared by Chanakeya of District Jammu and Manik of District Samba.
In Under-19 girls, Sabre, Priyanka of District Reasi claimed gold, Shine of District Jammu clinched silver, while Riya of District Samba and Vanshika of District Reasi shared bronze medals.
In Under-19 girls Foil, Ishika of District Jammu and Mannat of District Jammu won gold and silver respectively, while Simran of District Jammu and Sheepa of District Jammu shared bronze medals.
In Under-17 girls Epee, Mehak of District Jammu won gold, Danushi of District Jammu bagged silver, while the bronze medal was shared by Priyanka of District Jammu and Narmada of District Jammu.
In Under-14 girls Sabre, Twinkle of District Jammu and Raghi of District Jammu claimed gold and silver respectively, while Suhana of District Jammu and Anita of District Reasi won bronze medals.
In 14- girls Epee, Pranvi of District Jammu won gold, Priya of District Jammu bagged silver, while Simila of District Jammu and Ananya of District Jammu shared bronze medals.
Around 250 participants from Jammu Division took part in the competitions, which were organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports under the patronage of Dr Saleem-Ur-Rehman, Director General Youth Services & Sports and under the overall supervision of Madan Lal, Joint Director Youth Services & Sports Jammu.
Chanchal Kour, District Youth Services & Sports Officer Jammu was the Organising Secretary of the competitions.
The winners were felicitated by gold, silver and bronze medals by the Department.
The main objective of the competitions was to select the teams/players for the next level of competitions.
The matches were officiated by a panel of experts of the Department of Youth Services & Sports.
