Jammu witnesses season’s hottest day at 39.4 degrees

JAMMU:
The winter capital of the State today witnessed hottest day of the season with maximum 39.4 degree Celsius temperature.
”The maximum temperature recorded was 39.4 degrees and it was the hottest day of the season, a MET department official here said. He said the minimum temperature was 21.4 degrees, adding, ”in coming days, the maximum temperature will keep fluctuating between 38 to 40 degrees.”
”Jammu is going to witness hottest days ahead but after June 11, there will be some respite as rains and thunderstorm is expected,” an official of MeT department told UNI.
However, the maximum temperature in the past four days was recorded between 33 degrees to 36 degrees and the minimum was 18 to 21 degrees.
The schools and colleges may also get closed for summer vacations from first week of June. (AGENCIES)
