Jammu Wrestler Dillar wins Kanjali Dangal title

REASI, June 14: Wrestler Dillar Khan of J&K Police lifted 68th annual Kanjali (Reasi) Dangal title by defeating Wrestler Murad Ali of Nagrota in Jammu District in the first malli bout that lasted for 13 minutes at village Kanjali in Tehsil Dera, District Reasi.
A day-long wrestling event (Dangal) was organized by Kanjali Dangal Committee in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the overall supervision of former Sarpanch Sukhdev Singh, President of Dangal Committee Kanjali and Ram Singh (Chairman).
Former Joint Secretary J&K State Sports Council and President Kreeda Bharti Jammu and Kashmir was chief guest while BJP Baba Dansar Mandal President Romesh Chander Sharma and Rashpaul Singh (Bittu) were the guests of honour.
The winner of the main first malli bout wrestler Dillar Khan was awarded with cash prize of Rs 10,000 while runner-up wrestler Murad Ali was awarded with cash prize of Rs 7,000. The 2nd main bout was won by Billu of Jagti Nagrota who defeated wrestler Balwan Singh of J&K Police of Reasi. Winner Wrestler Billu got Rs 8,000 while runner-up wrestler Balwan Singh received Rs 6,000.
The 3rd malli bout was won by Javed Khan of Akhnoor who defeated Subhu of Delhi. The 4th bout was won by Balli of Jammu who defeated Teg Singh of Reasi. The bouts were officiated by Manzoor Hussain, Lal Singh, Punjab Singh, Vijay Singh and Murli Dhar (Munna). Proceedings of the Dangal were conducted by former Sarpanch Sukhdev Singh and Manjoor Hussain.
In all, a total 41 bouts were played in the Dangal and Rs 1.75 lakh was distributed as cash prize among the wrestlers.
