JAMMU, Aug 24: In a thrilling final match decided by just 14 runs, Jammu Zone emerged victorious over Gandhi Nagar Zone to claim the title in the District Level Inter-Zonal Cricket Tournament.
The event was organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, District Jammu, which took place at Khel Gaon.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Jammu Zone scored a modest total of 104 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 4 wickets in the process. Shivansh top scored with 40 runs off 30 balls, while Krishna contributed 23 runs off 15 balls. For Gandhi Nagar Zone, Rajveer and Mohd Faizan took one wicket each.
In reply, Gandhi Nagar Zone bundled out for 90 runs to lose the match by 14 runs. Rajveer top scored with 27 runs off 17 balls, while Prabdeep contributed 20 runs off 22 balls.
Manik was the wrecker-in-chief for Jammu Zone, who took 4 wickets by conceding just 5 runs in his 4 overs while Sahil claimed 3 wickets by giving away 16 runs in his 4 overs.
