23rd J&K UT Sport Climbing C’ship concludes

JAMMU, Sept 25: Arun Deep Singh of Jammu won Men’s title whereas Kashish Bharti of Udhampur became the new champion in the Junior Boys category of the 23rd J&K U T Sport Climbing Championship which concluded here today. Saksham Slathia of Jammu and Prince Thakur of Udhampur bagged the second and third positions respectively in the Junior Boys category.
Similarly, Kafeel ul Haq of Pulwama and Aayana Bhagat of Jammu became the new champions in the sub junior boys and sub junior girls categories respectively. Aryan Rauthan of Army Public School, Damana and Ankit of Jammu secured the second and third positions respectively in the Sub Junior Boys category.
In the Men’s category both Arun Deep and Mrityunjay Sharma, a former international climber, topped the 40ft high wall and the result was determined on the basis of time taken to top the wall in which Arun emerged victorious. Vikas Singh secured the third position.
In the Junior girls categories Meetali Khajuria of Jammu, Nancy Sharma of Udhampur and Ulfat Farooq of Pulwama secured the first, second and third positions respectively.
Parveen Sharma, Chairman, The Citizens’ Cooperative Bank Ltd was the Chief Guest who along with Arti Sharma, Chairperson, Sprawling Buds ICSE School distributed prizes and medals to the winners and mementoes to the participating institutions and distinguished personalities. Ram Khajuria, Senior Vice President; Sumit Khajuria, Vice President; Shawetica Khajuria General Secretary; Syed Abdul Mohsin, Joint Secretary (Kashmir) among many other dignitaries were present.
