JAMMU, Jan 22: Janipur Cricket Club, Evershine Cricket Club and Sai Cricket Club registered convincing victories in the 4th Eid-Diwal- Christmas T20 Cricket Cup, being played at Parade Ground, here.
The Tournament in which 24 teams are participating is being organized jointly by Jammu and Kashmir Police Department, Simula Sports Club, Atman Sports Club and Christian Sports Organization.
In the first match Janipur Cricket Club defeated RCC Srinagar by 5 wickets.
Batting first, RCC Srinagar scored 111 runs in stipulated 16 overs, with Puneet Wattal (38) and Amandeep (17) being the main scorers. Mohit took 3 wickets, while Raghu and Shamshudin took 2 wickets each for Janipur Cricket Club.
Janipur Cricket Club, in reply, achieved the target in the last over of the match by losing 3 wickets thus won the match by 7 wickets. Mukul was the top scorer with unbeaten 60 runs, while JD contributed 30 runs to the total. Sourav took 2 wickets for RCC. Mukul was adjudged as man of the match.
In the second match, Evershine Club registered win against BCC XI.
Batting first, Evershine Cricket Club scored 168 runs for 4 wickets in allotted 16 overs game with Bansi Lal 58 runs and Jagandeep 32 were the main scorers , Mehraj took 2 wickets each , while Ishtiaq and Mohsin shared 1 wicket for BCC XI.
BCC XI could not chased the target and scored only 120 runs in the allotted 16 overs of the game by losing 8 wickets, thus lost the match by 48 runs. Fayaz top scored with 47 runs and Shokat made 17 runs for the team. Bansi Lal took 3 wickets, while Hardeep and Narinder shared 1 wicket. Bansi Lal was adjudged as man of the match for his alround performance.
In another match, Sai Cricket Club defeated JK Warriors XI by 22 runs.
Batting first Sai Cricket Club scored 100 runs in the allotted 14 overs game with Surinder 17 runs, Arvind 16 runs and Ashu 13 runs. Kapil took 3 wickets, satish took 2 wickets while Rahul and Naseem shared 1 wicket for the team.
In reply JK Warriors XI could not chase the target and were all out for 78 runs. Naseer, Shakeel and Rahul made 18 runs each for their team. From bowling side Surinder took 4 wickets, Dheeraj bagged 3 wickets and Minto took 2 wickets. Surinder was declared as man of the match for his alround performance.
The matches were officiated by Sandeep Manchanda, Vinod, Sunil Sambyal and Danny.
In tommorow’s fixture, Khalsa Cricket XI will take on Singh Cricket Club at 8.30 am, All Greens Cricket XI will face KC Sports Club at 11.30 am and Jammu Police XI will meet ICC XI at 2.15 pm.
