Janipur traders seek swift action to work out theft cases

JAMMU, Sept 21: Concerned over series of thefts in the area, Janipur Traders Association, led by its president Yashpal Mantoo (ex-Corporator JMC) today convened a meeting with Police officials.
During the meeting, Yashpal Mantoo apprised the Police officials about series of thefts in shops as well as residences in Janipur area in the last one week. He sought immediate action for working out these cases besides ensuring that no such incident takes place in future. He also demanded intensified patrolling by the Police during night hours for maintaining constant vigil against the anti-social elements.
The Association members also submitted CCTV footage of these thefts to Police and hoped that swift action would be taken to arrest the culprits.
SHO Janipur, Inspector Sumit Sharma told the traders that Police was trying its best to arrest the culprits and further ensure that no such theft incident takes place in the area.
The meeting was attended by all the shopkeepers of Janipur market and also some prominent persons of the area.
