JAMMU, Mar 9: Outplaying formidable Jammu Cricket Club (JCC) by a narrow margin of 14 runs in the summit clash, Chenab Gas Agency XI lifted the title trophy of the Ravi Singh Charak Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament at Satwari Cantt, here today.
Raman Bhalla, Minister for Housing, Horticulture, Culture and Youth Services and Sports was the chief guest on the occasion, who distributed prizes among the winners and runners-up teams, besides some special prizes and the individual prizes to the players.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister assured all help to the budding sportspersons in promoting them to help promoting the cause of sports.
Earlier batting first, Chenab Gas XI scored a decent total of 161 runs in the allotted 20 overs, losing 6 wickets in the process. Jatin Wadhawan top scored with 50 runs off 43 balls, studded with 2 fours and 5 sixes, while Romy, Aman and Vimarsh Kaw contributed 36, 20 and 10 runs to the total respectively. For JCC, Jatinder Singh and Paras Sharma took 2 wickets each, while Aditya claimed one.
In reply, JCC managed to score 147 for the loss 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs, thus lost the match by 14 runs. Sidharth Magotra, Paras Sharma, Shubam Singh and Gurdeep Singh contributed 41, 30, 27 and 13 runs to the total respectively. For Chenab Gas XI, Vimarsh Kaw was the pick of the bowlers, who took 2 important wickets by conceding 18 runs in his 4 overs, while Aman also took 2 wickets by giving away 24 runs in his 4 overs. Kuldeep and Deepak claimed one wicket each. Jatin Wadhawan was adjudged man of the match, while Paras Sharma was declared man of the series.
The match was officiated by Sadiq Hussain Malik and Parshotam as umpires, while Vijay Choudhary was the scorer.
