JAMMU, Feb 2: Brilliant knocks by Jatin Wadhavan and Sidharth Magotra helped their teams to log victories and enter semifinals of the ongoing Ravi Singh Charak Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament at Government High School ground, here today.
Earlier, Kingfisher Cricket Club defeated Gorkha Cricket Club in an easy contest by 8 wickets.
Batting first, Gorkha Club scored 88 runs in the allotted overs. Rahul top scored with 39 runs, while Sourav contributed 15 runs to the total. For Kingfisher Club, Kuldeep Kumar and Sahil Sharma took 3 wickets each, while Rohit bagged 2 wickets.
In reply, Kingfisher Club rode on a power-packed knock of 53 runs by talented batsman Jatin Wadhawan to chase the required runs in just 7.5 overs. Jatin took just 23 balls to score 53 runs, which included 4 delectable boundaries and 6 massive sixes, while Sahil Sharma contributed 20 runs with the help of 2 fours and one six. For Gorkha Club, Pankaj and Sanjeev claimed one wicket each. Sahil Sharma was adjudged man of the match for his all-round show.
In another match, Jammu Cricket Club defeated JKP XI by 43 runs.
Batting first, JCC scored 142 runs in 19.1 overs. Sidharth Magotra was the top scorer with 83 runs off 32 balls, studded with 11 fours and 5 sixes, while Jasvinder contributed 20 runs to the total. For JKP XI, Balwan took 3 wickets, while Rajesh Gill bagged 2 and Ramdayal claimed one.
In reply, JKP XI bundled out for 99 runs in 17.4 overs. Rajesh Gill was the top scorer with 34 runs, while Naresh and Balwan contributed 22 and 10 runs to the total respectively. For JCC, Vishwajeet Singh, Rohit Sharma and Muzamil shared 2 wickets each. Sidharth was declared man of the match.
The match was officiated by Vijay Choudhary and Sadiq Hussain Malik as umpires, while Bunty maintained the scorebook.
